LARAC CONFERENCE 2023 Feedback

Following delegate feedback from 2023 we are making improvements for our 2024 conference, but there are some things we just can’t change. Please see below some answers to your feedback from 2023.

1. Parking

The cost of the Hilton parking is considerably less compared to other places in the NEC. LARAC does not have any control over the prices of Hilton parking, however, we hope that the reduced ticket pricing of the conference helps make this achievable. As always, to help with carbon footprint, we encourage attendees to join us by public transport or car share instead.

2. Signage

We are unable to put signage throughout the NEC if we are not hosting an event there. LARAC will look to improve its pre-event communications including a map and directions to the Hilton from the train station to make joining us at the conference as seamless as possible.

3. Food and drink options

LARAC understand that the conference days are long and tiring, there is a café on-site within the hotel lobby where there is coffee and sandwiches, the Genting Shopping Mall is also only a short walk which also provides various food and drink options.

4. Room temperature

Temperature control of a 600-person room is always a challenging one! We try and keep the main conference room cooler than the other rooms, due to the amount of people resulting in the space heating up more quickly. However, we understand certainly for the morning session this makes it slightly colder and will ensure we find a better balance.

5. Lunch

Thanks to the support of the sponsors, LARAC is able to offer members significantly discounted conference rates. As such, we like to encourage delegates to network during coffee and lunch breaks and in order to achieve this, we provide lunch in the same room as the sponsor stand, which unfortunately has a limited amount of seating. If you do have a medical reason you need to be seated, we do offer a separate room so please contact one of the team on site.

With regards to the lunch itself, The Hilton have recommended that a hot buffet lunch is preferable to sandwiches in order to avoid food waste, especially when we are catering for over 500 people in such a short space of time! We have however, taken on board feedback from delegates and are exploring potential options for 2024.

6. Awards dinner

As a result of feedback from the 2023 conference, LARAC will be ensuring that a soft drinks token & station will be available in addition to the wine on table, for those who prefer a non alcoholic beverage.
